These blackberries are Arizona natives. They originated in the mountains above Yarnell, Arizona. They were brought into the Arizona territory by early settlers. The actual origin of the blackberry canes are unknown. Over the last 100 years, the canes have adapted to the Arizona weather and now thrive at Fenway Park Orchard, in Morristown, Arizona. These blackberries start out green, turn white, then red, and finally turn black in the latter part of May. They are large, sweet, and juicy. They are a good source of antioxidants. They are great for pies, cobblers, or with a bowl of cream. The plants come equipped with thorns, but we will pick them for you! They are worth the effort, but the picking time is fairly short, less three weeks. **Everything grown is 100 % organic. We do not use any pesticides, insecticides or herbicides. |
